Cruz was born on April 28, 1974 in Alcobendas in the province of Madrid, Spain, to Encarna Sanchez, who was an Andalusian hairdresser, who also serves as her personal manager, and Eduardo Cruz, an Extremaduran retailer and car mechanic.
